Dr Rainer Janssen Takes Leadership Role at ETIP Bioenergy
 
Dr Rainer Janssen, Managing Director of Projects & Consulting at WIP Renewable Energies, has been honoured with the nomination as Co-Chair of Working Group 4: Policy and Sustainability within the European Technology and Innovation Platform (ETIP) Bioenergy. His term will commence in January 2025.
WIP Contributes to EU Study on Net-Zero Manufacturing
 
WIP Renewable Energies was involved in a recent study, led by ECORYS for the Directorate-General for Energy (European Commission), on 'The Net-Zero Manufacturing Industry Landscape Across Member States.'

The study assessed the current state and recent developments in key Net-Zero technology manufacturing industries across the EU. Its findings support the European Commission’s work in preparing the European Semester, the Progress Report on the Competitiveness of Clean Energy Technologies, and the broader implementation of the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA).

New Projects

GENDER4POWER Project Launches to Tackle Energy Poverty Across Europe
 
The new LIFE project GENDER4POWER kicked off in November, and partners came together for the kick-off meeting on 27-28 November at Coordinator's venue at WIP Renewable Energies in Munich.
GENDER4POWER will run for four years with the contribution of 9 partner organisations and aims to improve the living conditions of people affected by energy poverty in Austria, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Spain through renewable energy solutions. To do so, the consortium will adopt a holistic, citizen-led, gender-transformative, and multi-stakeholder approach.

WIP Renewable Energies is proudly taking on the role of Coordinator and Dissemination and Communication Lead in this project.

RHC-ETIP Hosts Regional Roundtable on Renewable Energy Solutions

The European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-ETIP) hosted the Southern Europe Regional Roundtable on 10 December 2024 to tackle the pressing question: ""How can Southern European countries achieve 100% renewable heating and cooling?""

The event broucht together key stakeholders and expert speakers from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia to discuss technological, economic, and social strategies for accelerating the adoption of renewable heating and cooling (RHC) solutions.

ETIP PV Gears Up for the
Co-Programmed Partnership
for PV

ETIP PV is establishing the Co-Programmed Partnership for PV with the European Commission, supported by the EUPI-PV board and the Steering Committee. This initiative will prioritise key R&I topics for Horizon Europe calls. The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed soon.

Save the date for the upcoming free annual ETIP PV Conference on June 4th in Brussels on “The urgency of now: Innovation in making deployment and production targets a reality for solar PV”.
