Collaborative Actions to Bring Novel Biofuels Thermochemical Routes into Industrial Scale

BioTheRoS will develop best practices and concepts along the entire value chain for accelerating the scaleup of sustainable biofuels worldwide. This will be done based on advancements to the State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) on two key thermochemical (TEC) biomass conversion technologies: (1) pyrolysis and the upgrading of its intermediate products, and (2) gasification and Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis. This will be achieved through international cooperation and knowledge exchange, in particular via IEA Bioenergy, in which many Mission Innovation (MI) countries take part. Advancements to the SOTA will improve the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of large-scale production of sustainable biofuels.
