The HeatCraftHP project addresses the pressing demand for skilled professionals in Europe’s heat pump sector, which currently faces a shortfall of over 500,000 craftsmen. The project focuses on identifying the essential skills required for proficient heat pump installation and troubleshooting, bridging existing skill gaps through targeted up- and reskilling initiatives.
To achieve this, HeatCraftHP will develop a workplace learning curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical applications directly into daily work activities. Innovative, interactive tools such as a heat pump simulator, troubleshooting simulator, and system integration tools will form the foundation of this curriculum, enabling craftsmen and craftswomen to master the design, integration, and maintenance of heat pumps within hybrid systems.
The initiative emphasizes improving the reliability and performance of heat pump systems to foster their large-scale adoption across Europe. By enhancing workforce capabilities, the HeatCraftHP project aims to meet the growing educational needs in the heat pump sector, advancing the efficiency and effectiveness of these essential systems.
